THE Fiji Filariasis Free weekend managed to administer tablets to more than 80 per cent of the Northern, Central and Eastern divisions, the Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed yesterday.
Although the Health Ministry's target was 95 per cent of the population through last weekend's initiative, it felt that its achievement was encouraging and beneficial.
National Advisor on Communicable Diseases, Dr Mike Kama said the weekend initiative was "very successful and it allowed us to pick out certain areas of concern as well as distribute the tablets".
