FOUR Nadroga rugby players flew out this morning to join the Davetalevu team in Singapore this weekend..

Jiuta Lutumailagi, Joave Kunawave, Seru Cakobau and Nemani Kurimudu were late replacements to some key Nadroga key players who were earlier chosen but were committed to work.

Davetalevu club president Jone Ratu said the four would play in the Cobra 10s tournament next weekend in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"We had to run around looking for the replacements for the last few days and fortunately these four players were ready and fit plus they had their passports ready," said Ratu.

Ratu said last week the Davetalevu side won the Borneo Sevens tournament and were looking forward to the Singapore 7s starting tomorrow.

He attributed the team's success to a different training method the players went through before departure.

"They trained in difficult terrain in the hills of Nadroumai and Vunatovau Village and hiked through dense bushes for hours which really tested their mental toughness."

The former national rugby rep said he hoped for a positive outcome after the final during this weekend's tournament.
