THE Taxes team won both matches in the Lautoka Volleyball Association competition at the multipurpose courts yesterday.

In the men's division the fixture between Taxes and FSC proved to be exciting.

Both teams were locked two sets a piece with the final set going down to the wire. Taxes held their nerve to win the set 16-14 and take out the match 3-2.

In the women's division Army Wives fought hard against a younger looking Taxes outfit. Lack of concentration kept the Army Wives in the match however Taxes finally edged their opponents 3-2.

LVA president Timoci Gukisuva said they were forced to play midweek games because the courts were booked for the Adi Salusalu Netball Championship tomorrow.

He said a new club joined them yesterday.

"We have the Islanders team starting in the women's division," Gukisuva said.

"Next week the Lands team will join us. Slowly the numbers are increasing."

Meanwhile the Waiyavi Volleyball Association club games will be played at the Natabua High School courts tomorrow.
