CANTERBURY flyer Patrick Osborne has been included in the Chiefs squad for the 2013 Super Rugby season.
The former Suva winger, Leliga Masaga and fellow Fijian Asaeli Tikoirotuma complete the specialist wingers for the defending champions named by head coach Dave Rennie.
Osborne was named in the Crusaders extended squad last year, however, the former Queen Victoria School student did not play a game.
He is likely to make his debut with the Chiefs this season.
Rennie said Osborne could add pace and power to his backline which had enterprising players Tim Nanai-Williams, Robbie Robinson, All Blacks trio of Richard Kahui, Aaron Cruden and Tawera Kerr-Barlow.
"He is incredibly quick, he's big and strong, can cut people in half defensively and has the ability to score from 90 metres," Rennie told stuff.co of Osborne.
Other Fijian players playing Super Rugby next year include Ben Volavola (Waratahs), Radike Samo (Reds), Solomoni Jr Rasolea (Western Force), Wise Naholo (Blues) Tevita Kuridrani and Henry Speight (Brumbies) and Alex Rokobaro (Melbourne Rebels).
Former Flying Fijians winger Napolione Nalaga who played for the Western Force last year has returned to his Clermont Auvergne rugby club in France while David Raikuna has been dropped from the Blues squad.
