RESIDENTS at Nakolia in Nadi have been challenged by Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua to ensure the safety of their community and international guests when he launched the Nakolia Crime Prevention Committee yesterday. Brig-Gen Naivalurua said the formation of the committee — an initiative of the Nakolia community and Nadi Police — was the type of collaborative effort that could prove effective in maintaining the safety of the community and visitors from abroad.
"This partnership is a key component of community policing that is built upon the goodwill and willingness of members of society to partner with police in the maintenance of law and order.
Partnership represents friendship and co-operation under a common goal that will reap benefits for all parties," he said.
