IN line with increasing their knowledge on sewing, a group of housewives in Labasa attended a two-day training on the craft.
The different skills of sewing taught would equip and empower the housewives in generating income for their respective families as they start their own businesses.
Macuata women's interest assistant Tima Pita said the training was the first of its kind for the women.
"These women brought their own sewing machines to learn more sewing techniques and we are just trying to upskill their knowledge so that they can embark on a business that will help them financially," Mrs Pita said.
The training was an initiative by the Department of Women and Courts Fiji Limited.
