Workers in the security services and printing trades see a better future for themselves following government's decision to increase their wages.
The government yesterday announced that workers in the security services and printing trades together with eight other sectors will receive a pay rise.
Overwhelmed by the news, a security guard working for the City Security Services, Elenoa Cokanasiga said she was happy.
"I have five children and I earn $105 per week which is very less to support my family and even the ever growing needs of living in Suva," Ms Cokanasiga said.
She said with the increase she would be able to support her children's education, provide quality food for the family and pay bills on time.
Another worker, Savenaca Sovalevu, who works in the printing department at The Fiji Times said with the increase he would be able to better support his family.
