Fun day
A total of 550 children are expected to participate in the 2012 WESTCOSE Special Schools Sports and Fun Day at Prince Charles Park in Nadi this Friday. The annual event has one again been sponsored by McDonald's Fiji. The winner will receive the Craig McElrath Memorial Trophy. Last year the day-long event attracted four schools from Suva.
Rising star
RISING star of Fiji golf Tristan Levestam will enhance his skill in New Zealand next year. Levestam, who is part of the national squad, will join Kelston Boys High School. He is expected to play in the Auckland Secondary Schools and North Harbour competition. Levestam first represented the country at the 2005 Callaway Junior World Golf Championship in US.
World ranking
NATIONAL rep Vikrant Chandra is keen to better his world ranking when he participates in the 2012 Asian Amateur Championship which starts in Thailand on Thursday. Chandra warmed up for the international event by winning the amateur title during the Fiji Premium-sponsored Fiji Golf Club Open last Sunday. The Suva lawyer has a world amateur ranking of 1965. He is second behind Olaf Allen Jr in the country who has a world amateur ranking of 1765.
