Zaragoza beats Sevilla

BARCELONA, Spain - Real Zaragoza held out to beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Spanish league yesterday for its first back-to-back wins of the season.

Striker Helder Postiga opened for Zaragoza at Romareda Stadium in the 36th minute, dribbling past the last defender and goalkeeper before rolling the ball home.

Defender Ionut Sapunaru headed in Zaragoza's second in the 45th minute, and the hosts held on after Gary Medel scored for Sevilla in the 70th.

It was Sevilla's third defeat in four rounds, while Zaragoza has 12 points from nine matches to provisionally move eighth.
