CLUBS playing in the Raiwaqa Basketball Association competition have been given another week of preparations before competition starts.
Competition was supposed to have started yesterday at Ed's Courts in Raiwaqa but association officials decided to move the start date back another week.
Raiwaqa official Saula Koroi said they had set-up the draws for yesterday's competition but most clubs called in to say that they were not ready.
Koroi said they would now start competition next weekend at the same venue.
"We cannot do anything because the clubs want more time to prepare so we expect competition to start with a bang next weekend," Koroi said.
Four men's and four women's games were scheduled to be played yesterday.
The association has also been working hard on its development program involving children from under-10 to under-15.
