LABASA soccer players yesterday faced an independent disciplinary committee to explain demands of payments made at the recent Inter District Championship.

Labasa Soccer Association president Robert Sen confirmed they met the players.

"Most of the players turned up and the others who didn't turn up are away from Labasa. The meeting was good but we will not divulge details at this time," Sen said.

"We have other things to finalise and talk to the other members who are still away before we can make further comments."

Labasa coach Bal Sanju Reddy could not make any comments but referred all queries to the management.

The 18 players were suspended following the allegations that happened at the IDC in Ba two weeks ago.

They were suspended because they demanded money from officials before their last pool game against Nadroga at the IDC.

It is also understood that players threatened not to play if officials refused to pay them.

Labasa had a disappointing performance at the IDC.
