Efforts are being made by police in the Western Division to reduce their internal expenditure in this last quarter.
Divisional police commander Jope Ralulu said they were working very hard to reduce their bill usage.
About 392 police officers from Sigatoka to Ra police stations were on parade at the Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday morning to be drilled on their performance for the last quarter of this year.
"Our internal expenditure, we are working to reduce our water bill, telephone bill and electricity bill by 10 percent this last quarter," he said.
DPC Ralulu said he was happy that they have remained within their allocation and especially thanked his officers for their contribution to this.
"Comprehensive look into our achievement last quarter, my challenge to you this morning to achieve our entire target in this quarter."
He told the officers that is all about adjusting their mind-set.
"We are in our change environment of the Fiji Police Force now. We are now in the 21st century. I challenge you let change our mind-set, let's adjust our performance to successfully reach the fourth quarter destiny in a high note."
"This is my challenge to you. We need to put extra effort to our work. To showcase to the nation that our division can be a safe division come 2013."
As their division commander, he reminded them again to make a difference in the last quarter of this year.
"This is a great challenge. I challenge you this morning. As your Division commander, I wish to remind you of the theme that are enacted in 2009 in together we will make a difference."
"Together we will make a difference in this quarter. So my advice to you this morning individually to forget about the past and let's come together as one family and march forward to success come 31 December 2012 we can stand and cheer and said "blessed" to 2012 that we did our best in the Western Division."
