The Ministry of Health is confident it will achieve its target of covering 95 per cent of the country's population during the Fiji Filariasis Free weekend campaign that started on Friday.
It has been confirmed that more than 1200 volunteers have been deployed to communities in the Central/Eastern and Northern Divisions during the three-day campaign.
National co-ordinator for the campaign Litia Salusalu said the number of people registered to receive the filariasis tablets was overwhelming and it was a positive sign.
"MOH workers and volunteers are targeting to administer the tablet to more than 2500 people with one volunteer confirmed to register up to 200 people."
