SUVA Football Association president Mahen Prasad is hopeful that the Fiji Football Association will make a 'fair call' and play the two-match Champions League Series in Lautoka and Nausori.
"Considering what happened in the Courts Inter District Championship final, I am sure that's why Fiji FA is hesitant to announce the venues of the games just yet," Prasad said.
"And I am certain that the FFA will make a fair call by taking into account the welfare of the Suva players, fans and officials."
The Fiji FA on Thursday revealed that this year's Champions League, to be played on December 2nd and 9th, will be between IDC and Fiji FACT champions Suva and league and BOG winners Ba.
The Ba and Suva IDC final a fortnight ago ended in controversial circumstances after the Ba players refused to continue with the game in protest against an extra-time goal scored by Suva. The game was later abandoned because of 'security risks' fuelled by anger and frustration of Ba fans.
The FFA later awarded the match to Finance Pacific-sponsored Suva as they were leading 1-0.
This ensured that the Whites won the Lloyd Farebrother Trophy after 28 years.
The Whites though are clearly in no mood to play their Champions League away game at Govind Park.
"We'd be much more happier to play the two games at Churchill Park, Lautoka, and at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori," Prasad said.
The FFA is still investigating players' and fans' fracas from the IDC final and it is likely that some Ba players could face disciplinary action.
Ba could even face a home ban on games if the Men in Black fans are found guilty of unruly behaviour.
Prasad, meanwhile, wants to remain Suva FC president but only if "I have support from business firms in the capital".
The man from Rakiraki, managing director of Power Electric Limited, has served his four-year term.
"It's very hard to run the association without support from business houses. I have to see their response. If they offer me their support, then I am willing to stay and bring more success to Suva."
Prasad said if he stayed in office then surely "Gurjit Singh will remain coach in the new season".
