FIJI'S partnership with the Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation initiative has benefitted civil servants.
And to further enhance this co-operation and highlight its importance, the Indian High Commission organised an ITEC Day on Thursday.
Speaking during the function, India's High Commissioner Vinod Kumar said Fiji's co-operation under ITEC had been very successful. "In addition to 40 slots under ITEC for civilian training, 40 slots for the navy and 10 slots for the army have been offered this year," Mr Kumar said.
He said ITEC covered a wide range of training programs including banking, management, auditing, information and communication technology, remote sensing, disaster management, solar energy, human resources, journalism and finger printing.
Mr Kumar said apart from the training, Indian experts were also sent to various countries from time to time to undertake small projects.
