THE Vatuwaqa bridge in Suva will be demolished after investigations revealed that it is irreparable.
Fiji Roads Authority manager change, Mike Rudge said the authority was working on a solution to temporarily replace the bridge when it was eventually demolished.
"We are conducting a technical investigation to find solutions to replace the bridge once it is demolished," he said.
Mr Rudge said a time frame had not been given for the demolishment but would be confirmed in the authority's emergency meeting next week.
The bridge has been in service for more than 30 years.
