THE organisers of the Nur Ahmed Yarawa 7s tournament are surprised with the number of teams that have shown interest in the tournament next month.
About 20 teams have confirmed their registration for the two-day event at Thomson Park in Navua.
Serua Rugby Union champions Lomary Alter Boys is one of the top bets while Police Navua, Saint Michael Liganibai and Suva-based Muaniwavu Babas will spice up the competition.
Other teams like Vunibau, Deuba, Nabukavesi, Navua Youth, Nakavu, Yarawa and Qilai have confirmed their registrations.
Tournament organiser Sakiusa Vasikoro urged teams to register.
"We have been receiving a lot of response from teams that are interested to be part of the tournament. And since we have only 48 teams, I am urging those other teams to confirm their registration as we will accommodate those teams that pay their registration on first come, first serve basis," he said.
