VETERAN powerlifting sensation Sainimili Turner revealed she would continue in the sport until someone can fill in for her when she retires.
And the 59-year-old is looking at young lifters Helen Pahulu and Elesi Ikanidrodro as potential candidates.
Tomorrow, the trio will compete in the 113 kilogram category at the national trials where a team will be selected to represent Fiji at the Oceania Championship in December.
"I am still feeling strong and I will continue until someone can replace me," Turner said.
"Age maybe catching up but I will continue until I know that someone else is there to continue."
Turner is competing in the 113kg weight category. She has stamped her mark in the 130kg.
"I have dropped my weight now and I am looking forward to lifting more weights compared to my previous lift. I am confident that I can still lift more and I am preparing myself for that."
She said Pahulu and Ikanidrodro were promising young athletes.
"I am taking part at this event on Saturday just to encourage these two young athletes. There is no one else there to look after them and I want to be there to show them some support," she added.
The event starts at 10am at the National Fitness Centre.
