THE National Golf Association of Fiji has revived the Fiji Amateur Mixed Foursomes Championship after a lapse of four years.

The Srixon Cleveland Fiji Amateur Mixed Foursomes Championship will be held at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva on November 4.

NGAF secretary Amitesh Chandra said they were working with the Fiji Women's Golf Association to promote women's golf in the country.

He said the Fiji Amateur Mixed Foursomes Championship was sanctioned by the NAGF and the FWGA.

Entry fee for the tournament is $60 per team.

"The revival of at Fiji Mixed Amateur Foursomes Championship is a positive step. We want to see more females take up the sport actively."

Meanwhile, the Srixon Cleveland sponsored Fiji Amateur Men's Foursomes Championship will be held at the Nadi Airport Golf Club on November 25.

National rep Olaf Allen Junior and national squad member Roneel Prakash will defend the title.

They won the 2011 competition played at the Lautoka Golf Club this year after being postponed last year.

Nadi brothers Anuresh and Amitesh Chandra will provide stiff challenge for the defending champions. Vikash Chand and veteran Rajen Singh of Ba are also top contenders for the title.
