RED Rock is among the big names that will feature in the two-day Mount Saint Mary's Sevens which starts in Nadi today.
Only 24 teams have been allocated spots in the tournament with defending champions Nakovocake missing out after failing to register on time.
Tournament co-ordinator Dominiko Banidawa said it was unfortunate that Nakovocake missed out.
"We have some renowned clubs that have registered this year," Banidawa said.
"There was a lot of interest so we had to close the registrations. There were places for 24 clubs only. Nakovocake tried to register but it was too late as all the spots had been taken up.
"We expect a tough tournament. This year's event will be exciting as teams are travelling from as far as Suva.
"Kele Leawere, the former Fiji captain, is bringing a team from Nadroga. The top clubs from Lautoka and Nadi have registered as well."
Last year's runner-up Sabeto is a sure starter. The winner will receive $2000 while the runner-up will get $1000.
