FLYING Fijians scrum coach/technical adviser Cameron Blades has started his work on getting a formidable scrum together before the northern hemisphere tour next month.
The former Wallaby prop, who joined the national team for the tour earlier this week, had his first session with the side yesterday at Bidesi Park in Laucala.
Blades focused on scrum play in the morning session before spending time on fixing the lineouts in the afternoon session.
He said his task was to recognise the missing links in the forwards play and update head coach Inoke Male on that.
"I have been going through the visuals of the previous games especially the last June window international against Scotland and there were some good scrums in there," Blades said.
"Most of the tighthead forwards are here except for Deacon (Manu) and I'm just getting to know the boys."
Blades said he would not do major changes in the scrums but work on polishing the weak links to get the forwards pack into a perfect shape.
The Flying Fijians will play England, Gloucester, Ireland A and Georgia during the end of the year tour.
