TWENTY-THREE religious organisations and schools in the Central Division have received a major boost from the Indian Cultural Centre.
The centre gave away musical instruments and religious books to the organisations and schools to further enhance their work on culture and traditions.
Speaking during the function, Indian High Commissioner Vinod Kumar said he was happy to see the way the people of Fiji maintained their culture.
"The donation is a kind gesture from the Indian Government which will further assist your organisations in various ways," Mr Kumar said.
ICC director Dr Kamal Kishore Mishra said the items would help children and youths learn various techniques.
"Youths will know how to play musical instruments and learn to preserve their culture and tradition," Dr Mishra said.
The Vuci Road Community Church, a recipient of the donation, said they were happy and fortunate.
The centre will also give musical instruments and religious books throughout the west and outer islands.
