THE Land Transport Authority enforcement officers have made it their business to inspect buses in Vanua Levu on a daily basis to track down defective buses.
While no warning has been issued to bus companies, LTA spokesman Alfred Wiliame said it was imperative for buses to operate in good condition for the safety of passengers.
"So far, we have only received three complaints from the north operating in poor conditions but other complaints are basically of irregular bus services and drivers refusing to travel to their allocated routes as a result of heavy rain and bad road conditions," Mr Wiliame said.
"The team is on the road regularly to monitor the operations of all buses as this is also nationwide activity."
