THE Fiji Police team will be using the Pratap Shied return bout against the Fiji Military Force as build-up for the annual Sukuna Bowl competition in December.

The Pratap Shield boxing challenge sponsored by Prataps Asphalt Quarries Limited will be held under the banner of the Wild West Boxing Promotion on December 1 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

The battle between the forces started last year, where Police defeated Army in the five bout contest. Police team manager Sainivalati Makutu said they had started their preparation for the competition.

"We won four out of five fights and we are going for all five fights this year. The team has started preparing and we are looking forward to this event."

Makutu said the competition was just a way to bring these two security forces together.

"The main thing is to socialise with each other and at the same time raise awareness to the public on our ongoing programs."

Wild West Boxing Promotion's Abdul Khan said he was happy to include them into his program and help in the development of the sport in the country.

In the main fight of this promotion, Fiji's Abhay Chand will fight Samoa's Pele Faumuina in an international non-title fight.

The supporting bout will be between Mohammed Shameem and Krishna Mudaliar for the featherweight title of Fiji.
