FORMER Minister for Housing, Local Government and Environment in the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) government Mataiyasi Vave Ragigia died last Saturday.
Ragigia died at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWM) in Suva after a short illness.
Originally from Namara Village in Kadavu, Ragigia was described as a committed and caring man by his family members yesterday.
SDL official Mesake Koroi said they were saddened by his sudden loss.
"This is a sad moment as we mourn the loss affair of his passing," Mr Koroi said.
Ragigia is survived by his wife Asenaca Nawaqalevu Ragigia and their three children.
Condolence gathering is being held at their home in Nakasi.
He will be laid to rest on Friday and his funeral service will be held at Vatuwaqa Methodist Church.
