POLICE are investigating the possibility that a land dispute could be the reason behind the alleged poisoning of a Nadi fish farm owned by a former inmate.
The incident resulted in the death of about 8000 tilapia and police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed investigations were continuing.
"With the issue of a land dispute, that is one of the areas the officers are looking into among other things," said Ms Naisoro.
The fish ponds near Denarau are owned by former inmate Peni Siga.
He claimed that someone dumped poison in the ponds.
Ms Naisoro said samples were sent to Koronivia.
