WITH the Kulawai Volleyball League nearing its end for the season, national women's volleyball coach Kenneth Lidise is happy with the way it has progressed.
A total of 62 players were initially selected for the league and were divided into three groups based on skill level and experience but because of poor turnout, organisers had to combine the groups into one.
He said because of the small number it was easier to monitor attendance and training.
"The objective of the league is to teach the proper fundamentals of volleyball to all interested athletes," Lidise said.
"So far a significant improvement is evident as far as basic skills of the girls are concerned and one can only imagine the positive impact the program will have on the athletes' skills and abilities in the years to come if there is continuity to the program," he said.
