FIJI Taekwondo Association has decided not to send a team to this year's Oceania Championships in Australia.
Fiji Taekwondo president Neelu Nand said the reason they had decided not to take part in the Oceania Championships was to save funds and send a bigger team to next year's Pacific Mini Games.
Nand said they believed that if they were to send a team to the Oceania Championships it would have been a very small team.
"Looking at our funds and what we have to pay to go to Australia it will mean we will just take one or two players across but if wait for next year's Mini Games in Wallis and Futuna we can send a very big team,"Nand said.
"So we have decided we will go to the Mini Games with a very good chance of getting more medals," Nand said.
Nand said Fiji Taekwondo's last international outing was at the 2011 Pacific Games where the team won one silver and one bronze.
