THE Tailevu Naitasiri (T/N) soccer side resumed training yesterday to prepare for the third match of the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries Viti-Vanua Levu play-offs this weekend.
The IDC premier division winners will face Taveuni for the fourth time this season.
A week before the IDC in Ba, the two teams met in the first match of the play-offs series and T/ N won that match by 1-0.
The next day, the Northerners levelled the series by winning the second match by the same score line.
And on the Sunday before last, T/N beat Taveuni 2-0 in the final of the Courts sponsored tournament at Govind Park to reclaim the premier division title.
T/N Football Association president Sundeep Roy said they had put the IDC win celebrations on hold to prepare for the last match that would be played at Labasa's Subrail Park.
He said the main thing coach Tagi Vonolagi would be working on was fitness and adjusting to 90-minutes football.
"We have given players one week off last week and training resumes today (yesterday).
"We will have to see the turnout and the fitness of the players," Roy said.
"Also we will have to switch back to 90-minute soccer because IDC was 60 minutes and that is another important thing we need to sort out," he said.
Roy said this last match against Taveuni was crucial as it would determine whether they would play in their third promotion relegation series in row or no.
