FIJI'S Lui Pene finished on the 35th position at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Series on Saturday in Auckland, New Zealand.
The youngest member of the national team to the series competed in the 300 metres swim, 5km bike race and 3km run in the solo event.
Pene, 15, competed in the 13 to 15 years age group and completed the race in 43 minutes 6 seconds.
He clocked 4.37min in swim, 11.52min in cycling and 18.39min in the run.
Fiji Triathlon Association president Andrew Pene, who is leading the national team of Caleb Koroi, Nau Dakuliga, Sikeli Rawlinson, Steven Thon and Lui to the series, was impressed with the youngster's performance.
The ITU World Triathlon Series had over 3000 athletes registered in the final this year.
