Fiji time

IT seems the Fiji Football Association forgot about the daylight saving introduced yesterday. The semi-finals were scheduled to start at 8am but started at 9am.

Spectators

You could do a head count of spectators before the start of the women's IDC semi-final. Even with the free entry less than 30 spectators were present at Govind Park before the first semi-final between Labasa and Ba. This is a far contrast from the previous week when there were hundreds of people lining up to buy tickets for the Courts IDC at the same venue.

Banners

SPONSORS Bargain Box Fiji Limited certainly need to beef up their advertising when sponsoring a major tournament like the women's IDC. The sponsors only had nine small banners tagged on the fence around the Govind Park pitch. In other tournaments the fence is covered not only with sponsor's logo but their product advertising as well.

Support

THE Labasa soccer side drew a lot of support during the semi-finals against Ba yesterday. Even some spectators wearing black were cheering for the northerners. The chant "Mai Labasa Mai Labasa Mai" was the loudest during the fixture.

Meals

THE Fiji Football Association provided meals for the teams participating in the tournament. It was bread, jam and margarine for breakfast, noodles and corned mutton for lunch and chicken curry for dinner.
