GLASGOW - Celtic thrashed St Mirren 5-0 away yesterday to secure a fourth straight win in the Scottish Premier League, extending their lead to three points.
Neil Lennon's side warmed up for a Champions League match at Spanish giants Barcelona on Tuesday by taking a four-goal lead by the break, with Victor Wanyama's brace adding to goals by Gary Hooper and Efe Ambrose.
Tony Watt's late header completed the victory, ensuring the defending champions moved further clear at the summit after Hibernian's surprise 3-2 loss at Ross County.
That dropped Hibs from second to fourth, with St Johnstone becoming the nearest challenger to Celtic by beating Kilmarnock 2-1. Aberdeen sit third after a 1-1 at Dundee United.
Celtic have now won their past six matches in all competitions.
"We were magnificent, every one of them," Lennon said.
