A 40-year-old man was reported missing by Police in Nasegai, Kadavu, on Thursday.
Police SpokeswomanAna Naisoro said police are appealing to mariners and those living along the coastal areas of Tavuki and Nabukelevu to keep a look out for a fibre glass boat that may seem to be drifting or in some sign of trouble.
Ms Naisoro said the 40- year-old had been reported missing after failing to arrive at his intended destination on Thursday.
She said the villager left Vunisea at nine o'clock in a fibre glass boat powered by 40hp Yamaha engine for Nasegai Village and failed to arrive at 10 o'clock on Thursday.
She said checks were made with the missing person's relatives with negative results and a search and rescue team had been activated.
