VEIUTO Primary School created history after winning the first ever Suva Unified Primary Schools athletics meet at the Suva Grammar grounds yesterday.
The school made a good haul in the girls division wining it with 23 gold medals while Saint Agnes Primary won the boys category with 13 gold medals.
Events co-ordinator Vereti Sauwaqa said St Agnes finished second overall while Marist Brothers' Primary managed the third place.
Suva Primary Schools Athletics Association president Lasarusa Sainibale was impressed with the potential shown by the young athletes in the two-day meet.
He said the association would select the Suva team for the Southern Division of the Chow Games, which will be held next month.
"We had only 10 schools participating this year compared to about 20 to 23 schools last year," Sainibale said.
"The drop in the number of schools prompted us to organise a unified meet rather than our normal Suva One and Suva Two zone format."
