THE winner of the Bargain Box women's Inter District Champion tomorrow will walk away with $1000.

The sponsors have given a total of $10,000 for the three-day tournament.

Bargain Box director Rahul Roy said they hoped this tournament would lay the platform for women's soccer to notch up another level in the country.

He said they were proud to be associated with Fiji FA.

"Women are capable of excelling in any field and sports is no exception," Roy said.

"Women's soccer is not that well recognised compared to other sports in the country. However, we are hopeful that the success of this tournament will in fact turn things around. The aim is for women's soccer to reach greater heights in the future."

The runner-up of the tournament will receive $500 while the losing semi-finalists will get $250 each.

The national soccer side is ranked 78th in the world.
