STRIKER Adiela Kurikaba scored a hat-trick to guide Ba to a 4-0 win over Navua in the Bargain Box Fiji Limited women's Inter District Championship at Govind Park yesterday.

Kurikaba starred for the home side displaying good dribbling skills upfront.

She was ably supported by midfielder Maria Lewavuni as Ba got off to a flying start.

Ba, the 2008 and 2009 IDC champions, scored first through Kurikaba midway in the opening spell. Lewavuni made it 2-0 before the break. Kurikaba showed her class scoring twice in the second-half.

Ba assistant coach Naomi Cavasiga said they were happy with the result.

She said the team had been in camp for the past three weeks.

"We are happy with the result as the players put in a strong effort," Cavasiga said.

"We would like to thank all the people who have been backing the team. The side has been in camp for the past three weeks.

"There are many students in the team. Majority are secondary school students. Adiela had a very good game.

"We should have won by a bigger margin as the girls missed some easy opportunities. We will need to work on our finishing. The players were often caught off- side against Navua.

"The aim is to win back the trophy. The players are aware of the task ahead."

Ba goalkeeper Adi Kaveni Tupou was rarely challenged in the match by the Navua strikers. The southerners wilted under the heat in the second-half.
