A WIN over Samoa's welterweight champion Pele Faumei could be a pathway to greener pastures for Fiji boxing champion Abhay Chand.
The Nadi-based boxer will fight Faumei in a 10x3 round in the main bout of the Wild West Boxing Promotions at Nadi's Prince Charles Park in December.
And promoter Abdul Khan has promised Chand an overseas fight if he wins.
Chand, who is Fiji's current welterweight champion, will have the full backing of the home fans and Khan says it will be a clash of champions.
"Both boxers are champions in their countries so we are assured that it will be a very good fight," Khan said.
"We will offer Abhay an overseas fight if he wins over Pele. It will be a strong fight so it's a good test for Abhay as well."
Khan said Chand could lineup a fight against New Zealand, Samoa or Tahiti.
Making a return into the ring after a lapse of several years is Junior Roshan of Navosa who will fight Savenaca Naliva in the 6x3 light heavyweight contest.
