THE Native Land Commission and the Fijian Affairs Board should be abolished.
As part of his constitutional submission at the Somosomo Provincial Council hall in Taveuni, Somosomo villager Apenisa Ralulu said the FAB and the NLC were based on the false promises of Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna.
"The land belongs to Fijians and as such all privileges of the land should be given to the iTaukei people in recognition of their ownership," he said.
Mr Ralulu told the commission the FAB had been making false promises to the iTaukei people since its establishment by the late Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna.
"All NLC sittings and hearings regarding chiefly titles and other matters regarding the iTaukei people and have no base," said Mr Ralulu.
"Only when the NLC and the FAB are eradicated from our country can we then live in racial harmony.
When asked for a statement, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama chose to reserve comment, saying he did not wish to comment because he was the Minister for Fijian Affairs.
