STUDENTS, families and friends of Veiuto Primary School came together at the Veiuto fun day last Saturday in an effort to raise funds for the ex-government school.
School board secretary Viola Lesi said while the fun day aimed to raise money, it was also an opportunity to have a bit of fun.
"It's really about all of those involved with the school to come together and have fun and at the same time raise money for the school," Ms Lesi said.
She said the school received a grant from the Ministry of Education every term but there was also a need for the school to meet some of its own costs.
"We have some students who are unable to pay their fees, so basically we are just trying to make ends meet," she said. "This year we have decided that the money will be going to a capital project for the school.
"We want to build a computer lab and we are trying to build our library and we also have to pay some of the administrative workers at the school."
Ms Lesi said the school's 987 students were divided into four houses for the fun day with each house aiming to raise $7000.
