Nadro champs
KOAST Guard now holds the Nadroga volleyball association Men's hallenge title after beating Pixie 2-1 in the feature match of the first round last weekend. The teams won a set each before Koast Guard powered home to victory in the third set. The Women's challenge will be held tomorrow at 4pm at the Outrigger grounds. Pixie 1 leads the points table in the men's and women's competition. Round 2 will be held at Lawaqa Park next Saturday. Teams are to be on time and duty team is Frendz. Registered players are to play only for their club.
Eels Impression
FORMER Fiji sevens rep Semi Radradra has impressed at the Parramatta Eels training camp, the NRL club have revealed. Radradra who joined the Eels after helping the Fiji sevens team to win the Gold Coasts 7s tournament last season had raised eyebrows with his commitment at the club. In response to Radradra's impression, the Eels have recruited Queen Victoria School's lock forward Erevonu Kamikamica to join the club next month. Fiji National Rugby League development officer Joe Rabele said they should expect more scouts to recruit more young players in the new season.
First Yarawa tourney
THE first ever Yarawa Sevens Tournament will be staged at Thomson Park in Navua next month. The event will be sponsored by Nur Ahmed Company Limited. Tournament organiser Sakiusa Vasikoro said only the first 48 teams would be accommodated. He said the event was organised to help raise funds to assist the Yarawa rugby club in the new season. Yarawa is one of the clubs that compete in the Serua Rugby Union competition. This season, the club failed to compete and Vasikoro said they were optimistic of joining the competition again next year.
