ONE of the three men facing charges of human trafficking finally had an interpreter at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
Thailand national Phanat Laojindamanee, Fiji national Zhang Yong and Hong Kong national Lum Bing appeared before Justice Paul Madigan.
The interpreter was made available after defence lawyer Aseri Vakaloloma told the court he would object to the caution interview because Mr Laojindamanee could not understand the proceedings. Mr Vakaloloma was not present in court yesterday while Akuila Naco appeared for Mr Yong and Mr Bing. Mr Naco told the court that Mr Bing was requesting a medical examination, which was agreed to by Justice Madigan.
