LOCAL and international designers are preparing for the Fiji Fashion Week 'Fashion in Paradise' show which will be staged at the Vodafone Arena in Suva .
Fashion designers from the US, India, France and Wallis and Futuna are already in the country in preparation for the show.
Fiji Fashion Week director Ellen Whippy-Knight said the designers from New Zealand and Samoa were yet to arrive.
She said designers from France and Wallis and Futuna arrived yesterday.
"We also have designers from Cook Islands, Australia and Nigeria.
"This will be the fifth year of our shows," she said.
She said they had Robert Kennedy, Hupfeld Hoerder, Rosie Semisi-Emberson, Moira Solvalu, Aisea Konrote and other recognised fashion designers.
"People can expect the biggest fashion event ever," she said.
"We have outdone ourselves in terms of capacity of the venue, the number of local designers, the number of overseas designers and the number of models," she said.
"We have big names like LaQuan Smith who has dressed Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga and Tyra Banks among other celebrities."
She said Fiji Fashion Week was a large movement of people, organisations, government departments and businesses working to build an industry which could sustain many jobs for creative people.
