THE Indian Cultural Centre has given musical instruments and religious books to the Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha Fiji.
The gift was presented by Indian High Commissioner Vinod Kumar and Indian Cultural Centre director Dr Kamal Kishore Mishra.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr Kumar thanked the Sabha for carrying out its duties.
Mr Kumar also said Fiji was a country where work in terms of culture and the Hindi language were progressing well.
ICC director Dr Mishra said the gift of musical instruments throughout Fiji was part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.
"The instruments and religious books will be given across all multicultural centres, academic institutions and cultural organisations," he said.
Sabha secretary Vijendra Prakash said the assistance would help people enhance their knowledge of religion and culture.
Mr Prakash said it would also encourage youths and women to learn to play musical instruments and carry out religious work in their community.
