THE Fiji Warriors team defeated Samoa A 42-34 in the Pacific Rugby Cup (PRC) clash yesterday at the Teufaiva Stadium in Tonga.
The Lance Whippy-coached side which has retained the PRC title after Tonga A defeated Samoa A over the weekend, played with pride to down the spirited Samoan side.
The Fiji Warriors drew inspiration from the Digicel Fiji 7s win at the Gold Coast 7s tournament on Sunday to fight back the strong first half performance from Samoa A.
Team manager Aseri Rokoura thanked the Fijian community in Tonga which hosted the Fiji Warriors at the Fiji Day Celebration Church service at Nukualofa over the weekend.
The Leone Nakarawa-skippered Warriors will play Tonga A in the final match this Friday.
