THE Suva soccer side had to leave Ba via Kings Rd on Sunday night for security reasons.
This was after their Inter District Championship final against Ba was abandoned by match officials.
Right back, Waisake Navunigasau scored for the capital side late in extra time but Ba players protested against the decision.
Ba soccer captain Osea Vakatalesau shoved assistant referee Kavitesh Bihari and then players of both teams got involved and had a heated argument.
Ba players then walked out of the field to protest the goal.
Suva Football Association president Mahen Prasad confirmed to Times Sport he, his family and the team left Ba via Kings Rd as they did not want to get involved in any trouble.
"We didn't want our players and families to get hurt," Prasad said.
"So to avoid trouble, we left by Kings Road as it was a safer and faster route to get back to Suva," he said.
