THE Southern Division Billiards and Snooker Association is gearing up to host the first team tournament of the year.
The Sam Super Pool-sponsored two player-team tournament has been confirmed for October 27 and 28.
SDBSA director Riffat Bhatti said 32 teams would be accommodated for the event.
"We have three team tournaments in a year and the two-player team is the first for this year," he said.
"This tournament will be used as a build-up for the three-player team event next month which will be a build-up for the five-player team event later in the year."
Bhatti has asked teams to be well-prepared for the event and to combine well with their partner.
"This is because we will have an award for the best team in our annual awards night at the end of the year.
"We will be looking at the teamwork and the combination between teams. The best team should stand out in terms of assists, communication and partnership."
He said the teams that would participate in the tournament would be made up of an experienced player and an upcoming player.
"This way, the experienced player can teach the upcoming player on skills and techniques and the upcoming players will learn a lot from playing with an experienced player rather than just sitting and watching from the side," Bhatti said.
