FORM six student Samuel Gova's lone goal turned a new page in the history books as Lautoka Central College became the only team to win back to back titles.
The lone goal was enough for Central to beat Labasa Muslim College in the secondary schools division Inter District Championship final at Govind Park yesterday.
Earlier this year Central College also won the Fiji Secondary Schools IDC title for a second straight year.
Labasa College put on a much improved performance after losing 0-2 to the Central College on Friday.
This time around, they managed to hold the reigning champions to a draw for over 70 minutes.
Central College captain Rusiate Matererega said they came with a mission.
"We learnt a lot from our round robin games and we made a lot of improvements for the final," the Nadi district rep said.
"It took us over 70 minutes to score and that shows our opponents were a good match," he said.
Labasa College team captain Jale Drelo thanked his players for their efforts.
"These boys are good players and I thank them for helping us reach the finals," Drelo said.
"With proper guidance and good coaching, these players can become district reps in the future," he said.
