BRIAN Hennessey was crowned the Tour of Fiji winner after scooping the fifth and final race in Suva yesterday.
Hennessey won three out of five which earned him the yellow jersey at RoC (Republic of Cappuccino) Coffee Shop.
Hennessey tipped Christian Carling by a millisecond stopping the clock at 16.12seconds.
The fifth stage started at the RoC Coffee Shop. The route took the cyclists along Victoria Parade and Queen Elizabeth Drive to the up hill section on Muanikau Rd, a left turn on to Ratu Sukuna Rd then right along Queen Elisabeth Drive and back to the RoC Coffee Shop.
"I think the cyclists were glad that it was such a short stage" said race director and president of Cycling Fiji, Dom Sansom
"The leaders were joined by other cyclists who rode the same course."
"I would like to thank all our sponsors, Leluvia Resort, Niu Industries, the RoC, Pizza King and Wishbone for their continuous support during the past five days," he said.
Hennessey and Carling toured Viti Levu, clocking impressive times which were less than 16 hours during the five days.
