PERMANENT secretary for Ministry of Youth and Sports Josefa Sania is encouraging youths in the country to attend empowerment workshops held in their districts.

Speaking in the village of Vuniwai in Saqani on Friday, he said the Ministry of Youth and Sports was focused on developing youths within the rural areas.

"The workshops are a joint campaign between our ministry and other government departments who are stakeholders in the development of youths like the fisheries and the agriculture department," Mr Sania said.

"Youth empowerment workshops are aimed at empowering enlightening youths and bringing development to rural youths by channelling them through the appropriate departments in the government ministries," he said.
