Kau takes over

FIJI's ambassador to the Republic of Korea (ROK) Filimone Kau, formalised his appointment in Seoul when he presented his Letter of Credence to President Lee Myung-bak last Friday.

The presentation, as is customary, also featured Mr Kau presenting the Letter of Recall of his predecessor Isikeli Mataitoga.

"I'm confident that your posting to ROK will further enhance our already friendly relations and ROK is more than ready to assist the embassy in its plans and program," the President said.

Mr Kau expressed deep gratitude to President Lee, saying the Fiji government valued its friendship with Korea as it had immensely benefitted from technical and developmental assistance provided by the ROK.

He also conveyed the well wishes from President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
